A special cell team of the Yamunanagar police has arrested two persons, who allegedly committed a robbery in a closed/non-functional plywood factory at Hadauli village by taking two watchmen of the factory hostage.

Naseeb Singh, a public relation officer of the Yamunanagar police said the accused had been identified as Ravi, alias Nanu of Lajpat Nagar in Yamunanagar and Joginder, alias Joga of Gulab Nagar in Yamunanagar.

He said the team today produced the accused before a court in Jagadhri, where they were sent to three-day police remand.

Rajesh Rana, in-charge of the special cell, said they got information that two persons were roaming under suspicious circumstances at Shiv Colony in Yamunanagar.

He said a team was formed, which arrested the accused from Shiv Colony. During interrogation they admitted that they along with their other accomplices robbed the closed factory on June 24.

He said they robbed copper items from an electricity transformer of the factory and other goods worth lakhs of rupees by taking two watchmen of the factory hostage.
