2 nabbed with 10-kg narcotics in Bhiwani

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Unit-I of Bhiwani district police apprehended two individuals in possession of 10 kg of cannabis near the Tigrana turn on the Hansi-Bhiwani road on Thursday. The raid was executed by a team led by Sub-Inspector Subhash.

According to Sub-Inspector Vishesh Kumar, the police team not only recovered the narcotics but also seized two vehicles believed to be used in the smuggling operation. “We received a tip-off about a major consignment of drugs being transported from Hansi to Bhiwani. Acting swiftly, a checkpoint was established and two local residents were apprehended,” he said. The arrested individuals have been identified as Amit alias Kalia and Siddharth alias Kaku. They were caught along with a motorcycle and an auto-rickshaw, both allegedly used for delivering the contraband. Police probe revealed that Amit has a known criminal background and is already facing six cases related to drug trafficking.

A police spokesperson said action would be initiated under the NDPS Act.
