The Jind police have registered a case against two Assistant Professors, Kapil and Sandeep, whose services were terminated following allegations of sexual harassment by students of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU), Jind.

The accused have been booked for harassment and under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Jind ASP Sonakshi Singh said a three-member police team had conducted an inquiry into the allegations and visited the CRSU and met students. It also talked to the internal complaint committee (ICC), after which some girls came forward with a complaint in this regard.

The ASP said on the basis of the complaint, the police started investigation after registering a case. Haryana State Women Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia had also issued instructions to the police to take action in the case yesterday.
