Wrong-side driving is one of the most common traffic violations in Gurugram, with two-wheeler riders, car drivers and even school bus drivers commuting on the wrong side of the road to save time. It is one of the key reasons behind accidents in the district.

The police have identified 80 spots in the district where wrong-side driving is prevalent.

“The major aim of the traffic police is not only to issue challans but also make traffic movement smooth and safe. Driving in the wrong direction is a major violation of traffic rules and strict action will be taken against those flouting norms. More than 20,000 challans have been issued for wrong-side driving in the month of January,” said Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic).
