“The police suspect that both the victim and his relative had consumed alcohol the previous night. After consuming liquor, Harender, a resident of Shahjahanpur, allegedly attacked Munish with a brick and fled from the spot. Police team has been constituted to arrest the accused.” Inspector Devender, SHO, Old Industrial Area, Panipat

According to the police, Munish had come to Panipat about a month ago and was working as a labourer in a local factory. A fellow worker, Azaad, said he called Munish on his mobile phone in the morning, but received no response. When he went to his room, he found Munish lying there, apparently dead, with a forehead injury.

Harender, a relative of the deceased, was also living in the same room. He was currently absconding.
