The police had then registered a case and started an investigation into the matter, following which the officials arrested Ravi, Sahil and Kuldeep of Nindana village.

Meham SHO Inspector Satyapal Singh said the investigation revealed that Ravi had an affair with Ashok’s wife Renu.

“Ravi called up Renu and asked her to accompany him for a trip to Haridwar. Ravi, Renu, Sahil and Kuldeep left the village for Haridwar on October 2. On the way, they consumed liquor, following which Ravi and his companions killed Renu and threw her body in the Ganga river,” the SHO said, adding that the accused had confessed to the crime.
