Karnal: Three persons were killed in two separate mishaps on Saturday. Two youths were killed near Baldi bypass on NH-44 when their car hit a pole. Mukesh Kumar (30) was killed when his bike hit a sand-loaded trailer on Karnal-Indri road. TNS

11 IAS get selection grade

Chandigarh: The government on Saturday issued orders to give selection grade to 11 IAS officers of the 2009 batch with effect from January 1. These officers were Yash Garg, Pankaj, Mani Ram Sharma, Amarjit Mann, Sujan Singh, Ashok Garg, Pradeep Godara, Ram Sarup Verma, Monika Malik, Jaibir Arya and Mukesh Kumar Ahuja. TNS
