Sirsa police have arrested three persons involved in two bank thefts in Sirsa villages.

Superintendent of Police Arpit Jain said the accused were traced with the joint efforts of the city police and Sirsa and Kalanwali CIA and teams.

The accused have been identified as Rakesh, a resident of Ghorghat district, Bhagalpur, Bihar; Ram Ratna, a resident of Kotakpura, Punjab; and Sheru, a resident of Munger, Bihar.

The accused robbed a branch of Punjab National Bank in Darba Kalan village on the night of September 17 and fled with Rs 2.03 lakh. Another theft took place on September 25 at a Central Bank of India branch in Otu village, from where the three accused robbed Rs 2.10 lakh.

The SP the accused named five to six accomplices during the interrogation. He added that one of their gang members, Sonu, used to carry out a recce of bank branches located in isolated places in villages.
