According to the complaint filed by Suraj Kumar, a native of Farrukhabad district in Uttar Pradesh, he stayed with his family in the Sector 74 area. His father had given him a bike, which he had been using as a Rapido vehicle.

“It was around 9 pm on Sunday when I was returning from Sector 46 on my bike. I received an alert message for a ride from the Rapido app. The place was 600 m away from my location, and I accepted the ride. When I went back after taking a U-turn, a young man signalled me to halt. When I stopped the motorcycle, three youths standing there started slapping me. Upon taking off my helmet, they hit it on my head. They threatened me to take them to the park. When I refused, they snatched my motorcycle and ran away. My mobile phone was also attached to the bike,” Suraj said in his complaint.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against three unidentified accused under Section 309(4) of the BNS at the Sadar police station.
