Three medical students of SGT University at Chandu Budhera were killed in an accident in Farukhnagar on Tuesday morning. Four others, including the driver of the van they were travelling in, were injured.

According to the police, the accident took place near Kaliyawas chowk on the Gurugram-Farrukhanagar road around 8 am when the six students were headed to their college.

The driver, Rajesh Rathi of Majri village, was driving the van on the wrong side towards a fuel station when a Haryana Roadways bus coming from the Gurugram side hit the vehicle. The van hit a divider. A few bus passengers were injured. The bus driver fled the spot. The deceased were identified as Varsha, her brother Akshay and Prashant, residents of Lukshar village.

An FIR was registered against the bus driver at Farrukhnagar police station and the bus was impounded. The bodies were handed over to families of the deceased after postmortem. — OC
