On the complaint of ASI Tejbir Singh, a case was registered against unknown persons under Sections 318 (4), 336 (3), 338, 340 and 61 of BNS at Buria police station of the district.
According to information, the police were checking vehicles at a barricade near Kanalsi village of the district on May 30, and found two tippers loaded with broken 'bajri', but mining mineral coarse sand was mentioned in the e-transit passes available with the drivers of both tippers.
The passes had been issued by two separate screening plants of the district. A screening plant cannot issue a transit pass of broken 'bajri', as it can be done only by stone crushers.
The police also seized a truck carrying broken stones.
But a screening plant had issued the transit pass of pebble gravel. As per the pass, there should be round bajri in the truck.
Mining Inspector Rohit Singh Rana said the passes were being checked to ascertain their authenticity.
