3-yr-old girl ‘molested’ in Gurugram playschool

A three-year-old girl student of a renowned private playschool in Sector 48 here has been allegedly molested. After the victim’s parents filed a complaint, the Gurugram police registered an FIR against an unidentified person and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed.

According to the complaint filed by the girl’s family, their daughter had been studying in the school for the past six months. On October 28, a delivery boy came to their house and caressed the girl while giving the goods. After he left, the girl informed her mother about the bad touch committed in the school.

During the girl’s counselling by the child welfare committee, she could neither tell the name of the accused nor recognise him. She was also not aware when and where the incident took place in the school.

Irate parents of schoolchildren held a protest outside the school on Tuesday and demanded the arrest of the accused.

The school administration has maintained silence on the matter. Despite several attempts, the school principal could not be contacted.

“An FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act at the Sadar police station and the probe is underway,” said a senior police officer

Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora has formed a SIT to investigate the matter. In the investigation so far, the picture of the accused is not clear. The police are investigating all aspects,” said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
