With the slow pace of the lifting of wheat, farmers are facing space crunch in various grain markets of Kaithal district. As per the data, the procurement agencies have lifted 30 per cent of the procured wheat till April 11.

The data says around 2.15 MT wheat arrived at 41 grain markets and purchase centres of the district, of which around 2.1 MT wheat had been purchased by various procurement agencies.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department has procured 62,402 MT, while 80,841 MT has been procured by Hafed, 44,133 MT by FCI and 28,561 MT by Haryana State Warehousing Corporation.

As far as the lifting is concerned, only 65,449 MT of wheat grains have been lifted, which is 30 per cent, said the data.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department has lifted 13,085 MT, while 27,041 MT has been picked by Hafed, 23,030 by the FCI and 2,293 by Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, the data added. Deeg Mandi, Pundri Mandi, Rasina Mandi and Solomajra purchase centres had recorded cent per cent lifting, while there are a couple of mandis and purchase centres which had recorded zero per cent lifting.
