4 smugglers held with Rs 10 lakh marijuana in Gurugram's Sohna area

The Gurugram police on Friday arrested four drug smugglers from the Sohna area while they were transporting illegal drugs in two cars. The police recovered 97.75 kg of marijuana worth Rs 10 lakh from one of the cars. The cars were seized and an FIR was registered under the NDPS Act.
According to the police, acting on a tip-off, a crime unit team from Sohna, led by Sub-Inspector Satyaprakash, arrested the four accused on the Sohna-Tauru road on Friday morning. They were found carrying marijuana in an i20 car while keeping surveillance from a Swift car.
The arrested have been identified as Anil Sharma, a resident of Jawahar Colony, Faridabad; Sahil Ahmad, a resident of Singar village; Anish, a resident of Ghasera village in Nuh district; and Juber, a resident of Bisambara village in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. All accused live in Faridabad and are allegedly engaged in drug smuggling.
“During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that they had bought the marijuana from Rajasthan for Rs 9.7 lakh and intended to sell it in Faridabad. However, they were apprehended by our crime unit team before reaching their destination. The accused have been involved in selling marijuana for a long time. Anil already has four cases registered against him in connection with narcotics in Faridabad and Delhi,” said ACP Crime Varun Dahiya.
