40 injured in bus-truck collision

Four of the injured have been referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, and over 10 are undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital in Jhajjar city. The remaining injured passengers were discharged after medical aid. No case was registered till the filing of the report.
The mishap took place in the morning when the bus ferrying factory workers from Jhajjar to a company in Gurugram collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Such was the impact that several women passengers were thrown off their seats.
Locals and passers-by rushed to the spot after the accident and helped transporting the injured to the Jhajjar Civil Hospital. The truck driver also suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment at hospital. Vehicular movement on the road was briefly disrupted following the accident. The police, however, soon restored traffic on the road.
Investigation Officer Vinod Kumar said all injured were out of danger as majority of them suffered minor injuries. However, four injured were referred to PGIMS for treatment. “An investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken once formal complaints are filed,” he added.
