The Airawat division of the Indian Army successfully concluded its ‘Nako Cycle Expedition’, covering 620 km across Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

The expedition was flagged off by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Kharga Corps.

As per the PRO (Defence), a team of 45 cyclists from the cavalry unit embarked on the challenging journey, navigating through breath-taking landscapes, and historic towns. Over the course of 20 days, the cyclists traversed Nako, Somling, Batal, Manali, Mandi, Bilaspur and Ambala.

The expedition was aimed at fostering the spirit of nationalism and adventure among youth, while making contact with the veterans of the Indian Army in the region. During their journey, the cyclists took the opportunity to engage themselves with the local community, learned about regional culture, spread awareness about Indian Army and interact with veterans.

En route, the participants also participated in various environmental conservation activities. Officials said the expedition showcased the Indian Army’s commitment to promoting adventure, nationalism and community engagement.
