The ADC conducted an inspection of the MC office around 9.30 am. After inspection, the ADC directed officials to issue notices to absent staff, seeking explanation from them. However, the Executive Engineer, Secretary, and Municipal Engineer were present during the inspection at the MC office.

Karwa recently took charge of the Kaithal MC. He conducted a thorough inspection of all departments and branches of the MC. He also reviewed cleanliness of the MC office premises, attendance registers and other official records. Instructions were given to officials concerned regarding office maintenance and record-keeping.

Karwa said, “Around 48 officials and employees were found absent from duty during the inspection. This is a serious lapse on their part. Notices have been issued to all concerned. Absentees have been directed to submit a written explanation to the District Municipal Commissioner’s Office. Failing to do so may result in disciplinary action against them.”

The ADC further emphasised that it was duty of government officials and employees to report to their office on time and ensure that grievances of the public were addressed promptly. “All files should be processed without unnecessary delay,” he said, warning that strict action would be taken in cases of negligence.
