The Kaithal police have arrested five persons in connection with firing on a shopkeeper for Rs 50 lakh ransom in Pundri town of the district.

The accused are Ashutosh, Chander Prakash and Sukhdev Singh of Yamunanagar, and Amit Kumar and Robin Singh of Karnal. “They are associated with a gang operated by Ankush Kamalpur,” DSP Ravinder Sangwan said, adding Ankush, who’s already in jail, was brought on production warrant for interrogation. Two members Sumit and Virender are on the run. TNS
