Six patients at a private hospital in Gurugram died late Friday night allegedly because of lack of oxygen. The families of the deceased accused the hospital authorities of negligence. “We called the police after the doctors fled leaving the patients without oxygen. The cops made arrangements for medical help, but by then six patients had died.Twenty others survived,” said a family member. The hospital owner is said to be a political activist.

The police said they were investigating the matter. Videos showing the family members of the deceased getting the police to the hospital and protesting against the hospital staff went viral. The hospital authorities could not be contacted despite several attempts. The police said the doctors in a statement had said all patients who had died were in critical condition.
