Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt Manoj Kumar and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganga Ram Punia held a press conference at the Mini-Secretariat here today where he spoke about the preparations for the yatra.
The DC said Duty Magistrates would be appointed in the district and SHOs of the police stations concerned would help them in ensuring the smooth conduct of the yatra.
He added that timber markets of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri would remain closed during this yatra.
He said if any organisation wanted to organise a ‘Kanwar camp’, it would have to take permission from the SDM.
“The organisers of the Kanwar camps should make proper arrangements for CCTV cameras and separate toilets for men and women at the camps,” said the DC. SP Ganga Ram Punia said there was a possibility of crowding in Kanwar Yatra from July 28, so heavy vehicles would be diverted at that time so that no devotee faced any problem.
