Savitri Jindal, mother of Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal, distributed scholarships to 65 students at an event held at RK Sadan auditorium of Kurukshetra University.

“The initiative is an important step towards empowering the youth and making them self-reliant through education. No talent should die due to lack of resources. The scheme was launched this year and soon, the scope of the scheme will be increased and it will be improved and expanded on a large scale”, Savitri Jindal said.

She said, “During the election Lok Sabha election, Naveen had promised to launch a scheme for the education of the students, who are not able to continue it due to financial issues. To fulfill his promise the scheme was launched. Today, the scholarships have been given to 65 students and more students will get the scholarships in future. Initially, the scheme was launched for girl students, but later the boys were also included as they also need support to continue their education. All promises made during the election will be fulfilled.

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Professor Som Nath Sachdeva said the Jindal Group's contribution was to lead and empower society. According to the population of the country, it was not possible for every citizen to get a government job. In such a situation, employment could be established only through entrepreneurship. About 60 per cent of the employment was being provided to the youth due to entrepreneurs. Therefore, the youth should take advantage of the scholarship scheme and develop the qualities of becoming an entrepreneur in themselves.

The principal of RKSD College, Kaithal, Sanjay Goyal said the youth who were taking benefits of the scholarship scheme should make up their mind that after achieving the target, they would also help the needy in the same way.

Kurukshetra MP office in-charge Dharamvir Singh said hundreds of applications were received under the scheme, but 65 students who met the parameters were selected and given benefits of the scheme.
