Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar Diwan on Tuesday convicted seven accused to life imprisonment in the murder case of a scrap dealer.

As per the police, on September 2, 2022, a man was shot in the Bilaspur area. He was rushed to hospital where he died during treatment. The deceased was identified as Sumit Kumar (30), a resident of Bhora Kalan.

His father said in a police complaint that his son had a thriving business and some villagers were jealous of him. On September 1, he and his son were going to deliver food to workers, when five-six youths from the village came on three motorcycles and shot his son. When his father raised the alarm, the accused fled the spot.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Bilaspur police station and the seven accused were arrested. They were sent to judicial custody after being produced before the court.
