A 7-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by an unidentified person in a village under the Sadar police station in Yamunanagar district.

The victim’s mother, a labourer at a plywood factory, reported the incident to the police. She stated that when she returned home from work on January 29, her younger daughter was missing. Her elder daughter informed her that the younger girl had been absent since 6-7 pm.

The mother searched for her daughter but couldn’t find her. The girl returned home late at night, with dirty clothes and revealed that an unidentified man had taken her to a nearby forest area on his motorcycle and sexually abused her.

A case was registered against the unidentified perpetrator under Section 6 of the POCSO Act at the Women’s Police Station in Yamunanagar on January 30.
