A team of the Excise and Taxation Department has found discrepancies in the working of eight liquor vends in the district.

Besides other discrepancies, stock register and point of sale (POS) machines were not found at the vends, in violation of the excise policy.

The team had recently conducted an inspection at several vends. Some vends did not display a board bearing the name, while others did not maintain a stock register, said Alok Passi, Deputy Excise and Taxation Officer, Yamunanagar.

“A report has been sent to the higher authorities of the department for further action,” he added.
