According to the police, the deceased, Raunak, was playing with his six-year-old brother when the incident happened. The children’s father, Vijay, a native of Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, works as a labourer and lives with his family in a rented accommodation in Khandsa.

Vijay said he was at home when both his sons were playing in the balcony. “Raunak climbed onto the grill and began hanging out. He suddenly lost balance and fell onto the street below. He was bleeding profusely,” he said.

The family rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information, a police team reached the hospital and took custody of the body. A senior police officer said the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination.
