860 FIRs registered against illegal mining so far

626 arrested in 2024; number rose to 754 in 2025

The Chief of the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, Amitabh Singh Dhillon, today informed that from January 1 to July 10, 860 FIRs against illegal mining were recorded. In the same period in 2024, 684 FIRs were recorded.

In its crackdown against the mining mafia, 626 persons were arrested in 2024, whereas in 2025, the number rose to 754. Likewise, 945 vehicles used in mining operations were seized in 2024, while 1,186 vehicles have been seized so far.

So far in 2025, penalties amounting to Rs 10.69 crore had been imposed in cases related to illegal mining, which was 57 per cent more than the penalty of Rs 6.78 crore imposed last year.

To prevent illegal mining, the bureau had strengthened its technology-based monitoring system.
