AAP a ‘grahan’ over Delhi, claims Khattar

The Union Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, claimed that the BJP would secure victory in the Delhi elections. “People choose their own government by casting their votes. They are fed up with empty promises and the non-delivery of the AAP and are looking for a change. The BJP is the only party that can provide effective governance,” he said while interacting with the media.

He was at the Munak Rest House, where he interacted with residents of Munak and Salwan. He listened to their concerns and assured them that their problems would be resolved.

Referring to the AAP as a ‘grahan’ over Delhi, he criticised the party and said, “For over 10 years, a ‘grahan’ has been cast over Delhi. People have suffered under its misrule.”

Taking a dig at former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s promises to abolish unemployment within five years, Khattar said, “Sheikh Chilli ke sapne aur AAP ke vaade ek jaise hain—na unka koi sir hai, na pair. Kejriwal has been in power for more than a decade, yet he has failed to deliver on his promises. Now, as elections approach, he is making new promises.”

Emphasising the benefits of a "double-engine government" for better governance, he said that since the BJP was in power at the Centre, people should elect it in Delhi as well to accelerate development.

Regarding his meeting with residents of Munak and Salwan, Khattar said, “The primary goal of these meetings is to understand the problems faced by villagers. The government is committed to expanding basic amenities in rural areas so that residents do not have to travel to district headquarters for minor issues.”

He also reviewed ongoing development projects in the area. Later, he visited the Karnal Committee Chowk, where he paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, highlighting Netaji’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle.

He exhorted people to draw inspiration from Netaji’s life. “Netaji was one of the key leaders of the freedom movement. On his birth anniversary, I pay my heartfelt tribute to him. The youth of today will continue to derive motivation from his life and fulfil their duties towards the nation.”
