AAP's Pehowa candidate seeks recounting of votes
Kurukshetra, June 24
AAP candidate from Pehowa Anil Dhawan, who lost to the BJP candidate Ashish Sharma, has sought the suspension of the election results of the Pehowa municipal committee and has requested recounting in view of the alleged foul play for the chairperson’s post.
BJP’s Ashish Sharma had defeated AAP’s Anil Dhawan by a margin of 55 votes in Pehowa. The BJP candidate was polled 9,312 votes, while the AAP’s candidate had got 9,257 votes.
In letters to Chief Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh, Kurukshetra Deputy Commission, and Pehowa SDM, Dhawan said a total of votes polled for the post of chairperson were 20,419, but the total number of votes counted were 20,363.
