Celebrations were also witnessed at Mayur Vihar Colony in Panipat where hockey player Abhishek Nain’s family lives. Ashish Nain, elder brother of Abhishek Nain, said that he started playing hockey when he was in Class III or IV, after which he never left the ground. “Abhishek took only a one-month gap from the ground when he suffered a serious injury in his hand after falling from a tree when he was in Class VI,” said Abhishek’s father Satnarayan Nain, who is a special police officer (SPO) in the district. ‘Choorma and milk’ is his favourite diet and when he reached Delhi he asked his mother Soorat Devi to prepare it for him. Abhishek scored two direct goals during these Olympics matches.
