A spokesperson of the bureau said the complainant had alleged in a complaint to the bureau that an FIR had been registered against his son, Devender, at the Hisar civil lines police station.
The FIR was being investigated by Sub-Inspector Ramniwas, and, during the process, the Sub-Inspector demanded a cash bribe of Rs 20,000 for securing bail for the complainant’s son on the day he was presented before a court.
On repeated requests, the accused agreed to reduce the bribe amount to Rs 15,000.
Acting on the complaint, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Hisar, arrested Sub-Inspector Ramniwas red-handed at the Hisar civil lines police station while accepting a cash bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant.
Consequently, an FIR was registered on June 20 against the accused.
