Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, on his visit to Sirsa on Sunday, strongly criticised MP Deepender Hooda and the Congress party. He asked Deepender to account for the actions of his father Bhupinder Singh Hooda during his tenure and urged him to explain the work done under the Congress’ rule.

Commenting on the recent ED raids, CM Saini stated that those who engage in wrongdoing would face the consequences. Saini labelled the Congress’ ‘Haryana Mange Hisab’ campaign as a journey of lies, with Rahul Gandhi spreading the “misinformation”.

He alleged that during the Congress’ 10-year tenure, there was corruption, limited electricity supply during summers and inadequate pension for the elderly. He said in contrast to this, the BJP’s focus was on equitable development across Haryana.

The CM launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign in Sirsa. The campaign, involving Radha Soami Satsang (Bias) volunteers, saw the planting of 20,000 trees to combat environmental pollution. Saini announced that the government would appoint 50,000 ‘Van Mitras’ (forest friends) to plant and protect trees, offering them Rs 20 per tree for their efforts.

He emphasised the urgency of addressing environmental pollution, noting that temperature in Haryana had reached 50 degrees Celsius in some districts this year.

Saini appealed to families to plant at least one tree, especially on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, to contribute to environmental conservation.

The Chief Minister also announced the target of planting 1.5 crore trees this year, with active public participation, to ensure the growth and expansion of forest areas in Haryana.
