The HC has taken cognisance of a petition filed by a resident of Kaimri village, Sandeep, who alleged that unauthorised colonies are being developed along Kaimri Road. The Division Bench of Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal and Justice Shalini Singh Nagpal on August 4 directed the District Town Planner (DTP) of Hisar to take action in accordance with the law within three months.

The state government had informed the court that proceedings had already been initiated against the private respondents and assured that the petitioner’s application dated July 4 would be considered in accordance with the law. The court, in turn, directed the DTP to examine the representation and take action as per legal provisions within the prescribed period, if necessary.

Notably, the Town and Country Planning Department, Hisar, also detected that some illegal colonies are being developed on the areas along the Kaimri Road, Tosham Road, Rajgarh Road, Mirzapur Road and Bagla Road in the town. The department has also served notice to these people, sources said.

According to the DTP Dinesh Kumar, the department has served notice to some persons who are reportedly carving out unauthorised colonies without licence. The department aims to ensure that no illegal colony is developed anywhere in the town, he stated, adding that if illegal construction is not razed after notice, the department proceeds with action.

In Hansi town of the district also, the District Town Planner, Hisar, has also issued a public notice warning against the purchase of plots, flats or commercial units in Gokuldham Colony being developed in Hansi town on Narnaund road. Spread over 28 acres, this colony does not have a valid licence from the Town and Country Planning Department under the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975, stated the public notice issued by the department.

The notice added that buying, selling or promoting properties in unlicensed colonies is a legal violation and could result in financial loss to investors. The DTP has also warned that strict action would be taken against colonisers violating the rules and that public awareness efforts would continue to safeguard buyers from fraudulent real estate activities.
