He has recommended the cancellation/termination of licence of stone crushers and mineral dealer licence (MDL) of screening plants, so that the process of dismantling these units could be initiated.

The units had allegedly been found indulging in illegal mining activities, despite FIRs against some units in connection with illegal mining in the past.

The DC said 13 screening plants and stone crushers located at different places in Yamunanagar district were operating illegally. FIRs were registered or fine was recovered from them, but the unit owners did not stop operations.

He said District Mining Officer Vinay Sharma was asked to prepare a list of illegally operating stone crushers and screening plants at the meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee (mining) held recently.

“A list of 13 units has been sent by the District Mining Officer. These units were found carrying out illegal operations, causing a damage to the environment and revenue loss to the state treasury,” said Gupta.
