Even as the number of active cases dropped below 1 lakh for the first time in the past 14 days, Haryana today witnessed a little dip in new Covid cases as 10,608 tested positive in the state.

However, with the death of 164 more persons, fatalities continue to be a worry.

In all, 16 people succumbed to the virus in Rohtak today, followed by 15 in Gurugram, 12 in Jind, 11 each in Hisar, Panipat and Bhiwani, and 10 in Ambala.

Till Friday, 6,402 people have lost their lives in the state since the Covid outbreak.

Today, 2,144 new infections were reported in Gurugram, followed by 1,146 in Hisar, 826 in Faridabad and 748 in Sonepat.

With 14,577 recoveries, the number of active cases came down to five figures for the first time in May, as the figures had crossed 1 lakh mark on May 1. — TNS
