Farm activists today laid the foundation stone of the Sahid Kisan Smriti Sthal at Khatkar toll plaza in Jind district in memory of farmers who died during a stir at the Delhi borders in 2020-21.

An event was organised by the Zila Kalyan Kisan Majdoor Samiti. The samiti has decided to install the statues of 19 farmers from Jind district who were among about 750 farmers who died during the agitation.

Congress MP Deepender Hooda, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary, farmer leaders Gurnam Singh Charuni, Abhimanyu Kohar and Chandershekhar Ravan were among those who attended the event.
