Based on the complaints, Dr Aditya Pratap Dabas, Deputy Director of Agriculture (DDA), Yamunanagar, has written to Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal requesting him for registration of an FIR against persons allegedly involved in the fake registration fraud.

In their complaints to the DDA, Gurmukh Singh and Surat Singh have alleged that they had sown paddy and other crops on their agriculture land.

They alleged that when they tried to register their crops on the MFMB portal, they found that some people had already registered crops using khasra numbers of their agriculture land on the MFMB portal fraudulently.

As per the information available, some people do fake registration of crops on the MFMB portal to wrongfully claim MSP procurement benefits.

Earlier, the Agriculture Department had detected a case of fraud involving fake registrations on the MFMB portal for kharif procurement in October 2024. The department received complaints of fake registration of crop on 464 acres.

Following verification, the matter was sent to the Superintendent of Police, Yamunanagar, resulting in registration of an FIR against several persons under various Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 at the police station of sector-17, Jagadhri, on October 10, 2024.

Aditya Pratap Dabas said that the department was committed to protect the welfare of genuine farmers and would continue strict monitoring to ensure fair and transparent mandi operations. “Police complaints are a lesson for those attempting fraud. We assure our farmers that their rights and benefits are safe with us,” said Dabas.
