He alleged both leaders lacked grassroots political understanding, especially that of the booth-level functioning. Rana also announced that the state government was taking major steps to promote natural and organic farming. He said the government would open two dedicated organic markets—one in Gurugram and one in Hisar. He added that these markets would significantly increase the farmers’ income.
He was on a visit to Maharana Pratap Horticulture University. While interacting with mediapersons he said, “Rahul Gandhi was questioning the election results despite belonging to a family that had produced Prime Ministers for four generations. “Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, his mother Sonia Gandhi was Congress president, but a child from such a family has no understanding of a polling booth. He neither goes to the booth nor knows how it works,” Rana claimed.
He said that due to this lack of knowledge, the Congress organisation had weakened. “First you need an organisation and a team. It is like the saying “naach na jaane aangan tedha”. They have no understanding of organisational structure.”
Targeting Tejashwi Yadav, Rana said the RJD leader also lacked ground-level awareness. “His mother was the CM of Bihar, his father was also a CM. Now, he takes things lightly and has no real knowledge. That is why he levels baseless allegations,” Rana said. “If someone randomly calls another person a thief, it does not make any difference. Such accusations arise from one’s own inner insecurities, and that weakens the party,” he added.
He even explained the working at booth-level and the difference between the BJP and other parties.
On being asked about the “paddy scam” in Karnal, he said that action would be taken against those involved in it.
Earlier, Rana announced that the state government was taking major steps to promote natural and organic farming. “The government is working seriously to promote natural farming. Organic grains will ensure better health for all. To help the farmers sell their organic produce easily, the government will open two dedicated organic markets—one in Gurugram and one in Hisar,” he said. He added that these markets would significantly increase the farmers’ income.
Rana said the farmers at present relied heavily on wheat and paddy, which required extensive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. “These chemicals give rise to serious diseases. We want the farmers to shift towards millets and naturally grown crops—this will improve public health and boost farmers’ earnings,” he said.
Rana was welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Suresh Malhotra. The minister reviewed academic, research, and outreach activities and inspected the main campus construction site. When asked about the completion timeline, Malhotra informed him that the main campus would be ready by 2026.
