The AIIMS Sangharsh Samiti staging an indefinite dharna in Kund town here for the past 121 days has now threatened to launch an indefinite fast from February 11 if the foundation stone of the AIIMS project is not laid by February 10.

A delegation of the samiti led by its president Sheotaj Singh today submitted a memorandum to the Union Health Minister through the District Revenue Officer (DRO) in that regard.

“Besides the laying of the AIIMS foundation stone, we are also demanding the start of OPD services and the MBBS course in the district under that project, but to no avail; thus forcing us to launch an indefinite fast from February 11,” said Rajender Singh, spokesman for the samiti.
