All 38 agri societies in Sirsa being linked online
In a major step towards digitalisation in the agricultural sector, data of all Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in Sirsa district has been uploaded on the National Cooperative Database. Efforts are now underway to connect all 38 PACS in the district to the online system.
The Madhosinghana PACS has already become an e-PACS, meaning it is now directly connected online to the Central Cooperative Bank and other cooperative institutions. The process to convert the remaining PACS into e-PACS is underway.
There are 37 multipurpose PACS and six cooperative marketing societies in the district, which are functioning as Prime Minister Kisan Seva Kendras, providing essential agricultural services to farmers.
Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Sanjeev said four PACS — Dharmpura, Kurangawali, Panjuana, and Ellenabad — had been identified for setting up grain storage godowns. These PACS meet the required conditions under the Grain Storage Plan.
However, the construction will move forward only after agreements with procurement agencies are finalised.
Sanjeev added 1,28,057 farmers in Sirsa district are members of PACS. These include both agricultural and non-agricultural members. PACS play a vital role in providing crop loans, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to farmers.
He said the cooperative institution served as an essential support system for the farming community, helping them access necessary resources for their agricultural and allied activities.
