Alumni get together at Kunjpura Sainik School for annual meet

The 'old boys meet' at Sainik School, Kunjpura, was celebrated with faith, enthusiasm and pride, honouring the legacy of its illustrious alumni. During the programme, nostalgia filled the air as former students from various batches gathered to relive memories and reconnect. The old students shared stories from their time at the school.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Swatantra Raj Singh, a former student and recipient of the prestigious Dronacharya Award for his contributions to Indian boxing as a coach. Acknowledged as the chief guest, he was warmly welcomed by Principal Colonel Vijay Rana, marking the event’s formal beginning with a wreath-laying ceremony as tribute to martyrs.

The golden jubilee batch made a significant contribution by donating 40 air conditioners for all classrooms in the NDA block, while the silver jubilee batch contributed towards renovating the horse stables. Upon their arrival at Singh Dwar, the alumni were greeted and joined in a floral tribute at the martyrs’ memorial alongside chief guest Raj Singh and alumni association president Major General Bishamber Dayal, VSM (retd).

The celebrations at Sant Kumar Stadium included a science exhibition, a mountaineering photo exhibition, art displays, and a horseback riding display, along with a series of sports events. The alumni and students shared camaraderie through a tug-of-war match. The evening concluded with a vibrant cultural programme, featuring dance, drama, music, and instrumental performances by the students.

In his address, Swatantra Raj Singh praised the spirit of Kunjeyans, emphasising their unique achievements and national recognition. Principal Col Vijay Rana presented a memento to the chief guest. The event was concluded with a presidential address by Major General Bishamber Dayal, VSM (retd), and a vote of thanks by Col Rana. The event was graced by Squadron Leader Manpreet Singh, the Vice-Principal and Squadron Leader Sonia Sharma, and the administrative officer.
