Dr Nisha Gehlawat, a second-year Diplomate of National Board (DNB) student in Ophthalmology, Civil Hospital, Ambala City, has brought laurels to the institution.

She bagged the first prize in the paper presentation competition at the fourth Annual Meeting of Association of Community Ophthalmologists of India (ACOIN), Haryana State Chapter, held in Kurukshetra recently. The event witnessed participation of budding ophthalmologists across the region. Dr Nisha, a PG resident doctor, presented her research paper on “Firecracker Ocular Injuries” which was appreciated for the depth, relevance and presentation skills of the topic.

Principal Medical Officer (PMO), District Civil Hospital, Ambala City, Dr Renu Beri Pajni congratulated Dr Nisha Gehlawat for her achievement and said active participation of young doctors in research ensured continuous progress in the field of ophthalmology.
