Ambala govt school students fare well in exams

The government schools in Ambala have fared well in the results of senior secondary examinations of Haryana Board of School Education.

The district had a pass percentage of around 88.08 per cent this year, while last year, the pass percentage was 85.5 per cent.

As per details shared by the department, as many as 6,365 students appeared in the exam of which 5,606 qualified, and 651 got compartment, while 108 students failed to qualify.

District Education Officer Suresh Kumar said, “The government schools in Ambala have improved their results compared to last year. The Education Department in Ambala had set a target to achieve 90 per cent, however, we managed to achieve 88.08 per cent.

The department kept its focus on the regular classes and attendance of the students. Model test papers were shared with the students and extra classes to remove the doubts of the students were organised. All these efforts along with the hard work of the students and the teaching staff have helped in improving the results.”

Meanwhile, in Kurukshetra, as many as 6,624 students appeared in the exam, of which 5,775 qualified, 736 got compartment and 113 failed to qualify. The district had a pass percentage of 87.18 per cent.
