The 15th annual award ceremony was organised by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Student Front of India at the auditorium of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. The event was held to mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.

At the programme, 350 students, social workers and sportspersons were honoured for their achievements in different categories.

Former MP Sunita Duggal, HSSC member Subhash Meghwal, and Haryana Seed Development Corporation Chairman Dev Kumar Sharma were present as chief guests. The event was presided over by Dr Swadesh Kabir, Dr Aseem Miglani, Dr Rajendra Kadwasra and Ravindra Chauhan.

Sunita Duggal spoke about Dr Ambedkar’s contribution to the uplift of backward communities and his role as a legal expert, economist and leader. Subhash Meghwal highlighted Ambedkar’s views on women’s progress and said the CET exam for regular recruitments would be conducted soon.

Dev Sharma said Ambedkar studied many foreign constitutions while drafting the Indian Constitution. He also mentioned that the idea behind the RBI was based on Ambedkar’s thoughts.

Haryana GK’s Star Pradeep and NIFA Haryana’s Dalbir Singh said such events should be organised across the state to encourage the youth. They also stressed the need for educational development in every part of society for national progress.
