The rally, scheduled for December 14 at Ramlila Ground, will be a major step to expose the Union Government. This was stated by Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla while interacting with mediapersons on the sideline of the party’s meeting at Manav Sewa Sangh on Wednesday.
Aujla along with senior party leader Satnam Virk has been appointed as the observer of Karnal for the rally.
During the meeting, responsibilities were assigned to workers at different levels, and strategies were finalised to ensure strong participation from the Karnal district unit in the Delhi rally. Aujla emphasised reactivating workers down to the booth level and mobilising maximum crowds for the event.
Aujla launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Central Government and alleged that the BJP “came to power through vote theft” and has now “turned its back on the promises made to the people.”
“Rising inflation, unemployment, farmers’ issues, labourers’ hardships, and employees’ demands remain unresolved. Yet the government is busy praising itself while crime rates are increasing and citizens feel insecure,” they claimed.
He said the December 14 rally is not just a political show but a platform to take people’s issues to Delhi. They urged the workers to reach out to the public, explain the purpose of the rally, and ensure massive participation to send a strong message to the government.
Congress Urban district president Parag Gaba, Rural district president Rajesh Vaid, former youth state president Divyanshu Budhiraja, former MLAs Bakhshish Singh Virk, Dharampal Gonder, Rakesh Kamboj, youth district president Rajat Lather and other party leaders were also present there.
Aujla slams Navjot Kaur Sidhu for ‘baseless allegations’
When asked about the recent statement of former Punjab MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu and her suspension, Aujla reacted and said that levelling allegations against anyone certainly invited action from the party. He recalled that the Aam Aadmi Party had also suspended an MLA for similar reasons. Aujla stressed that every political organisation has its own discipline, and any concern or issue must be raised on the party’s platform, not outside it. “She violated this discipline, which is why the party was compelled to act,” he said. The Congress is a party with a rich legacy, the very organisation that led the country to Independence, supported by countless historic leaders. He hinted that it is possible Sidhu may be influenced by someone else or that her remarks were being strategically used by others for their own motives.
