Anganwadi workers on Thursday staged a dharna at the mini-secretariat and raised anti-government slogans over the government’s “unfulfilled promises”.

The protesters sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the district administration.

In the memorandum, Anganwadi workers accused the government of breaking its promises. They said the on-ground reality was very different from what they were promised.

Among the issues raised by the protesters was the quality of ration provided to Anganwadi Centres. They also called for promotion benefits, and the provision of a helper at the Mini-Anganwadi Centres.

The workers expressed hope that the government would take immediate action to address their concerns.

They issued a stern warning, stating that if their demands were not met in time, they would not hesitate to launch a state-wide agitation against the government.
