Police have not confirmed this saying it is a matter of investigation.
Armed men opened fire outside Yadav’s house early on Sunday morning, while Yadav was not home.
There is now a new twist in the incident after the Bhau gang took responsibility. Gangsters Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritaulia shared a post on social media and claimed that they had carried out the attack.
“The bullets that were fired at Elvish Yadav's house today were fired by us. He has ruined many houses by promoting betting apps. Other social media influencers promoting betting may face bullets or calls,” read the post.
Ram Avtar Yadav, father of Elvish, said they heard a sound around 5.30 am.
“When we came out, we saw bullets had been fired. We checked the CCTV and found that there were two people involved and probably a third one too. We informed the police, who started an investigation. The miscreants fired around 15 rounds. Elvish was not here as he is out for work but we feel scared. I hope the Gurugram police arrest the accused soon,” said Yadav.
A few days ago, a case of firing at singer Rahul Fazilpuria was reported. The police are looking into both the cases together as Fazilpuria and Elvish had released a controversial album.
According to police, the three men on a motorcycle fired more than a dozen rounds at Yadav's house before fleeing. The bullets struck the ground and first floors.
After getting information, a police team collected forensic evidence and are scanning the CCTV footage. A police officer said an FIR would be registered soon on the family’s complaint.
A family member said Elvish had not received any threats prior to the incident.
