Some unknown persons allegedly beat up employees of Municipal Committee, Nakud, Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

The MC employees were on duty and posted on the banks of Yamuna river, where residents of Nakud and nearby villages had come to immerse idols of a goddess on Friday.

UP is on the eastern side of the Yamuna river and Haryana is on the western side. On the complaint of Balesh of Nakud, a case was registered against 10-12 unknown persons at Jathlana police station of Yamuanagar. The complainant said that they were performing their duty on the banks of the river yesterday when 10-12 persons came and started beating them with sticks and iron rods, saying that they couldn’t throw garbage of Uttar Pradesh in the Yamuna river. MC employees sustained injuries in the attack.
