At historic workshop, officials gain insight into legislative drafting

During this two-day workshop, officials and employees from the Vidhan Sabha and various departments of the state government not only understood the technical nuances of legislative drafting, but also absorbed the core objectives of lawmaking.
On the second day, several subject matter experts presented technical perspectives on various aspects of legislative drafting. The workshop was praised by Governor Aasim Ghosh and Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Ram Shinde.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, while addressing the participants, emphasised the need to continue the process of learning, prioritising public interest and national interest. Over two days, eight sessions were held and experts responded comprehensively to all queries raised during the sessions.
Earlier, Ravindra Garemella, former Joint Secretary of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Asad Malik from the faculty of law, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, Anurag Deep from the faculty of law, Delhi University, and Keshni Anand Arora, former Chief Secretary of Haryana, gave lectures on different topics on Saturday.
LS Speaker’s 4th visit
During the 15th Haryana Vidhan Sabha's 11-month tenure, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has visited Haryana for Assembly events four times. His first visit was in February during a training programme for MLAs. On September 26–27, he once again guided officials and staff from the Vidhan Sabha and various state departments during the legislative drafting workshop. Speaker Harvinder Kalyan expressed deep gratitude to the Lok Sabha Speaker for his continued mentorship.
