At observation home in Ambala, DC honours meritorious kids

Ambala Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta on Tuesday visited the observation home in Ambala City and inquired about the facilities being provided to juveniles.

As per the information, the DC inquired about the number of juveniles, and checked the food and staying arrangements made for them.

The superintendent of the observation home, Dharmpal, informed the DC that 60 juveniles from 12 districts were lodged there. In addition to education and art and crafts training, they are also provided vocational and skill training and are involved in sports activities. A library is also being run at the observation home, and Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan is also holding yoga classes for the juveniles.

During the visit, Gupta interacted with the juveniles, inquired about the facilities, tasted the food prepared and visited the kitchen garden maintained by them there. He also saw the paintings prepared by the juveniles. The DC also honoured them with medals and kits, who were performing well in education and art and crafts.

On the occasion, the DC and other officials, including the chairman of the Child Welfare Committee and the district programme officer of Women and Child Development Department, celebrated Lohri and Makar Sankranti with the juveniles.
