The order, issued on Monday, seeks to balance studies with job placements for final-year students. According to a notification issued by the department of computer science and engineering, such students would be required to attend 30 days of class in a semester — offline or online.

The university said, despite the relaxation, academic requirements like mid-term and end-term examinations, and presentations would continue to be mandatory at the department level.

It also stated that classes could be held on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays or regular working days, as per the decision of the Chairperson or department concerned.
